Solo Living Circle: The Power of Micro-Connections
Time: 1.00 - 2.00PM (UK time / GMT)
Date: Thursday 27th November 2025 (community gatherings are every two weeks on a Wednesday)
Location: Online via Zoom
Event Description
Micro-connections are small, everyday interactions that build stronger relationships and improve well-being - for example smiling at a stranger, chatting with a barista, or exchanging a quick text with a friend. Research shows that micro-connections are foundational to our health and happiness - yet most people have no idea what they are! When we met for the first time last month, we agreed it would be interesting to look at the power of micro-connections to add richness to our lives as solo living people. In this session, we'll cover how we can build more micro-connections into our everyday for greater health, resilience and happiness.
**We'll start promptly at five minutes past the hour. To avoid interruptions and make sure everyone gets value from the session, I'll admit members until ten past and then close the session.**
What is the Solo Living Circle?
Living alone can feel simultaneously liberating and isolating – especially when you're figuring out how to build a social life that doesn't revolve around a partner or housemates. Whether you've recently moved out on your own, gone through a separation, or are navigating life solo for the first time in years, this regular session is an opportunity to check in with others on the same journey, and learn a few tips and tricks along the way for successful solo living.
Join us as we explore the unique challenges and opportunities of this unique way of life. We'll tackle practical topics like managing loneliness without over-relying on any one person, creating connection rituals that work when you live alone, finding the balance between cherishing your independence and reaching out for support, and building a friendship circle that feels sustainable rather than exhausting. This is a safe space to share what's genuinely hard about living solo, whilst celebrating what's brilliant about it too.
We're building brilliant friendships, together!
The Friendshift Circle is a warm, welcoming community for thoughtful, genuine people who value depth and authenticity in their relationships. If you prefer smaller gatherings, meaningful conversations, and slower-paced socialising, you're in the right place. Whether you're navigating changes in your friendship circle, starting fresh in a new area, or simply want to build more emotionally connected relationships that fit your life as it is now, we're here to support you every step of the way.
Founded by leading friendship coach Hannah Carmichael OBE, our community brings together like-minded souls (mostly aged 30+) from all walks of life who understand the importance of having space to reset whilst also craving genuine connection. Through regular online gatherings and our moderated community space, you'll find practical advice, heartfelt support, and the tools you need to create the friendships you're looking for - without pressure, without pretence, and entirely at your own pace.
